Action Packs

Action Packs are available for WI members to hire and work together in a group, following step-by-step guidelines, to learn a new skill. Aimed at beginers, the packs included details instructions and illustrations to enable you to hold the workshop without a tutor. Current packs available are:Making gift boxes

  • Fabric boxes
  • Fabric frames
  • Canvaswork
  • Braids and tassels
  • Christmas
  • Aromatherapy
  • Stencilling
  • Foundation piecing for patchwork
  • Keepsake books
  • Strip patchwork
  • Amish patchwork and quilting
  • Paper beads

A coordinator, who can be a member of the group, organises any materials or equipment required and arranges a suitable venue. The coordinator recieves written guidance on making these arrangments.

Action Packs are usually hired for one week. You can organise as many workshops as you wish during this week. Please note that some packs may take more time to complete than others. Packs cost £24 (including p&p) to hire.

Once you have developed new skills through an Action Pack, you may wish to learn more. We offer a wide range of skill based courses at all levels from beginners to those with more experience. These include Open College Network and City and Guilds courses, which take place Denman College or in federations.
